Anupam Kher-Irrfan Khan Verbal War

Anupam Kher and Irrfan Khan got into a verbal duel on Tuesday evening at a suburban 5-star hotel, during a discussion at the curtain raiser of an award function . Both actors were nominated for their performances in recent films Lunchbox and Special Chabbis. The issue began when Anupam was asked to make a comment on the nominations . In fact, Anupam Kher was just trying to play it safe and said, "I would only like to talk about myself, so its only going to be about Special Chabbis." But it is true that anything can go wrong when your time is bad !Irrfan took this as an insult and the Slumdog Millionaire actor shot back saying, "Cinema is not about applauding only one's own self. I disagree with Anupam's viewpoint. We need to praise others too."  This enraged Anupam and his ego is hurt as he is much senior to Irfan and replied in negative, "This is totally out of context. I teach students when to applaud and who to applaud. I have a high regard for those who are nominated in any award function." When Anupam said that he has high regards for those who are nominated in any award function, he was trying to clarify that he doesn't have a problem with Irrfan and instead have high regards for the actor in him. The issue got settled after both actors had a chat later and hugged each other !

Ranveer Singh Loses Cool When Asked About Deepika Padukone!

Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone might not want to proclaim their feelings for each other to the world, but the media will never let them alone! During an interaction with the media for promotion of Ranveer Singh-Arjun Kapoor starrer Gunday, Ranveer almost lost his cool while trying to evade questions of his alleged relationship with his Ram Leela co-star, Deepika Padukone.

The entire cast of Gunday which included Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor and director Ali Abbas turned up at the press conference of the film. More than the movie, the media was interesting in knowing about Ranveer and Deepika's alleged romance. Initially Ranveer kept quiet and allowed Arjun and Abbas to do the talking for him, which we must say they did very well!

However, when the media kept prodding about his personal life, Ranveer got a little irritated and replied, "Focus on Gunday." But the media was unwilling to relent and kept asking him to open up. He then said, "It is action drama film... YRF is producing it, starring Arjun, Priyanka and myself and is directed by Ali Abbas. It releases on February 14... do come and watch it. Next question please." When the media went on, the usual 'cool' Ranveer lost his temper and questioned, "What is this happening, is this the Gunday film press conference or my interrogation?"

Salman Khan Lends His Shoulders To Hrithik Roshan; Advices Him on Sussanne!

Salman Khan is known to be a good listener and has a heart of gold! He not only helps damsels in distress, but also 'macho looking' hunks who needs his shoulder to cry on! Hrithik Roshan recently visited Salman Khan and reportedly spend nearly ten hours pouring his heart out to Sallu, who listened very carefully and adviced him. Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan have offlate been bonding very well. For those who are not aware, we must tell you that a few years back, Hrithik and Salman could not even see eye to eye. It all started when Salman Khan reportedly made a derogatory comment about Hrithik's film, Guzaarish (2010) with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Hrithik too striked back saying, "Salman is like a baby." He also did not appear on Salman's show Bigg Boss to promote his film Krrish 3. Anyways, all that is past and this new year, we see Salman adding one more to his long list of Bollywood friends!

Shahrukh Khan, the once poster boy of Yash Raj Films has a lot of reasons to worry this year! Salman Khan, who is basking in the glory of super successes throughout the year is getting close to YRF and already bagged a two very promising films. Times are changing and new association are taking place in Bollywood! Aamir Khan Wants To Make A Film On Maulana Azad

Bollywood's own Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan said it's his dream to conceive a film on the legendary life of the great leader, Maulana Abdul kalam Azad. The interesting fact about Aamir, which even most fans don't know is that he is a great grand nephew of Azad, the nationalist muslim scholar. While inaugurating Apeejay Kolkata Literary Fest 2014, Aamir revealed his wish of making a film on Azad. He said, "I hope that someday I can use my capabilities, and through the art form that I practice, to make a film on Maulana Azad. It's a dream to bring his life to a larger populace of India.



The perfect Khan also wished he had seen his freedom fighter great grandfather, who played a key role in developing a secular attitude in country's highest power circles. He was a minister of education in Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru's rule, from 1947 to 1958.Aamir also revealed that he is amazed by the predictions made by Azad a year before independence. The predictions are about the partition of sub continent and Bangladesh Liberation War. Apeejay Kolkata Literary Fest 2014, concluding on Jan 13, will reflect and celebrate the secular views of Azad this year. Aamir Khan, who is basking in the dream success of Dhoom 3,  is seen delivering a special address on Azad's secular ideas and foresight at the inaugural session of the festival.

Did Rakesh Roshan Lie About Krrish 3 Box Office Collections?

Rakesh Roshan has time and again maintained that his latest release Krrish 3 starring Hithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra has grossed Rs. 500 crores. However, his son and male lead of the film Hrithik Roshan has issued a press release stating that the film has fetched not more than Rs. 299 crore! Krrish 3 was one of the biggest hits of 2013. The cast and crew members had not left out anything in the making or the promotions to ensure that the film is a sure shot hit. Well, hit it was! However, the buzz doing the rounds now is that Rakesh Roshan had purposely given inflated numbers to the media, now that his own son and actor of the film has made it clear that Krrish 3 fetched only Rs. 299 crore, and that includes domestic(Rs. 244 crore) as well as international (Rs. 55 crore) Box Office collections.



Within a week of Rakesh Roshan declaring to the media that Krrish 3 had collected Rs. 500 crore, a few trade analysts and even industry insiders began questioning the authenticity of his claims. However, Rakesh Roshan stood by his claim saying that it's impossible to exaggerate or inflate box office collections. He had further said that he has been getting updates from distributors, exhibitors and theatre owners and hence the figures are full proof. However, Hrithik Roshan recently issued a press release which clearly explains that the film did not make so much money. In the press release, Hrithik explained that the film collected Rs. 244 crore from India approximately and got a collection of Rs. 55 crore overseas.

Dr Ajay Chaughule, who is attending to Manyata Dutt said, "She is very sick and we are monitoring her medical parameters. Right now, no decision for any sort of surgery has been undertaken." It was earlier reported that Manyata is suffering from a heart ailment and has a 6 cm long tumor in her liver. At that time, the media alleged that Sanjay Dutt was using his wife's ailment as an excuse to get parole since she was spotted at a close friend's birthday party and even at the screening of recently released film R...Rajkumar. Now, there is no such rule that an ailing person cannot attend any function, what say guys? Sanjay Dutt has seen a lot of such suffering in his family before. His mother Nargis died of cancer while his wife Richa Sharma died of the same ailment. Hence, this is definitely a very tough period for Sanju baba. I Love Jai Ho: Salman Khan

Salman Khan is on a roller coaster ride, winning everything that comes his way ! Irrespective of the directors or writers he works with, Dabangg Khan single-handedly takes the box office by the storm. Ram Gopal Varma once him praised saying that Salman's peaking success even failed the auteur theory that argues that the director is the most important person in a film!

Salman is really happy about the way his latest offering Jai Ho is shaped up and is gung-ho about its release! He revealed to press that Jai Ho is one of the films he really liked. He said, "I am enjoying doing all the interviews for Jai Ho because I actually like the film."

Muscle Khan also opined that it is the audience who are the ultimate judge of a film. Disillusioned with critics, Salman also said that he doesn't want any stars from critics as his thinking and their thinking never match. Bhai truly believes that audience doesn't take these critics seriously and as a result, many of the film they gave good rating unfortunately sank in the box office. He also made a remark that Jai Ho is not in the usual 'Wanted-Dabangg' format as it carries a lot of emotional conflict in it. Salman Camp has tremendous expectation on Jai Ho, which is based on the Telugu action thriller Stalin. Sohail Khan directed film, Jai Ho, will be having a mammoth release on January 24 all across the globe.

What Is The Special Message Sent By Emraan Hashmi To Kangna Ranaut?

Emraan Hashmi, Bollywood's 'serial kisser' sent a message to Kangna Ranaut after watching the promos of her upcoming film Queen. Well, now don't get ideas! Emraan, who acted with Kangna Ranaut in Gangster in 2006 thought it was only 'civil' to congratulate her after watching the promos of her upcoming film Queen.
According to a website, Emraan liked Kangna's portrayal of a village girl and hence messaged her saying that he liked the promos and looks forward to seeing her in the next-door girl avatar in the film. On her part, Kangna was overwhelmed by his kind words and thanked him for his encouragement.

Shabana Azmi - Naseeruddin Shah Verbal War

Naseeruddin Shah's opinion on Bhaag Milkha Bhaag didn't go well with yesteryear actor Shabana Azmi,who is also the step mother of the lead actor of the film, Farhan Akhtar. Naseeruddin Shah, an actor Bollywood can show to the world with pride, recently made a comment on the last year's blockbuster film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag (BMB).

Bollywood's Naseer Saab was not very happy with the film and went on to call the film ' fake'.Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, with its realistic portrayal of Olympian Milkha Singh's life, had won great critical acclaim along with terrific box office success, last year. But Naseeruddin Shah had a different opinion. He said, "It's a completely fake film. Farhan (Akhtar) has no doubt worked very hard but building up muscles and growing your hair is not exactly working hard on your acting.At least he should have tried to look like Milkha."

Shabana Azmi who worked with Naseer in many films has now come up with an opinion that is very different from Naseer's. Shabana said, "Farhan was outstanding in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag His performance gave me gooseflesh. He has raised the bar for what actors should demand from themselves while portraying real-life characters. Naseer is entitled to his opinion. But most Indians don't agree with him." Even though Naseer had a point in telling that working on your acting is not working on your muscles, it seems that most of Bollywood don't agree with him. Farhan has built a great physique for the biopic but Milkha didn't look like Farhan at that point in time and it is a fact that BMB fans would not want to hear. Prasoon Joshi, who penned the biopic, was on the side of Shabana and opined, "I respect Naseer Saab and he's entitled to his opinion. But I don't agree with his opinion on BMB. I've written the film. It has inspired and connected with people all across the world. It was not meant to be a documentary or a niche film."

For almost three years, I was jobless: Arshad Warsi

ctor Arshad Warsi says he refused to do a film with renowned director Mira Nair because he had to audition for it, something which he doesn't know.

"I have never given an audition for a role in my career so far. I don't know how to do it. If somebody asks me to give audition I get completely flustered. Like Mira Nair, I love her, she is a lovely person, she called me twice, and told me to give audition. I told her I can't give it and that she can show some of my movies to the concerned person," Arshad told .

"She had first called me for 'Shantaram' and for one more film, it was a Bengali detective film. If a time ever comes that without giving an audition I cannot get the film, I will be jobless. I can act in a film but I cannot audition," he said.

Arshad, who made his acting debut in 1996 with 'Tere Mere Sapne', says he has never asked for a role or movie from any filmmaker.

"I have never expressed my desire to work with anybody or never called up anybody or asked for a job. I am thankful to God that I have never reached that stage. May be some day if I need to do it, I will do it but not as of now. I also believe that if you fit the role, the director will call you," he said.

"I only had one problem in the beginning of my career, for almost three years I was jobless but not after that. I might sound pompous but I practically refuse at least a film or two a day...I take up few which I like," he added.

Arshad will be seen next in Vishal Bharadwaj's 'Dedh Ishqiya' alongside Naseeruddin Shah,Madhuri Dixit and Huma Qureshi. The film releases on January 10.

Perilous journey of 'Highway' team

Continuous landslides, narrow and perilous roads - the journey of the " Highway" team was full of danger while driving down the road to Tabo in Himachal Pradesh to shoot for director Imtiaz Ali's road movie.

The crew members' perilous journey is captured in the latest episode of "Highway Diaries", a short video snippet.

They drove through the narrow and perilous roads of the northern state with continuous landslides. A big stone fell from the mountains and broke the windscreen of one of their cars, forcing them to halt and wait for the bulldozer machines to clear the road, said a statement.

The video diary ends with actress Alia Bhatt, who features in the film, delivering her lines that rightly describe the breathtaking location - "Tumne kabhi bataya nahi ki duniya aisi bhi hai,unbelievable! (You never told me that world is like this)".

Presented by Sajid Nadiadwala, "Highway", which stars Randeep Hooda in the male lead, captures the landscape of the various regions in the country.

The crew has already shot in Jammu, Delhi and Punjab.

'Sholay' an all-time greatest movie, says Salman Khan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is in awe of "Sholay 3D" and the stars associated with it.

The 3D version of the cult movie "Sholay" came out Friday.

Director Ramesh Sippy had pulled a casting coup for "Sholay", which starred the big names likeAmitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Sanjeev Kumar, Amjad Khan, Hema Malini and Jaya Bachchan.

Produced by G.P. Sippy, it became the biggest hit of 1975.

"'Sholay' - the dada of all movies. Go and see it, Amitji, Dharamji, Sanjeev Kumar, Hemaji, Amjad Khan, Jayaji, Aasraniji and Jagdeepji are superb," Salman, whose father Salim Khan co-scripted it with Javed Akhtar, tweeted Friday.

The 48-year-old has called the movie "a journey", and said that he has never seen such a performance in any movie.

"It's a cult film, experience it, it's a journey. The way the film is written, directed and produced 30 plus years ago," he tweeted.

"Seriously, never seen a better performed, directed, written, photographed, produced, acted, edited, background score, cameo roles are toh standing," Salman added.

Filmfare awards to take a look into Bollywood future

The 59th filmfare awards this year will offer a glimpse into the future of bollywood in a humorous way.

"Every year we try to do better. This year we will take a light-hearted peek into the future of Bollywood; may be of 10-20 years. The awards this year are also about commemorating and paying tribute to unforgettable stars, films, songs, dialogue and celluloid memories," said Tarun Rai, CEO, Worldwide Media, publishers of Filmfare magazine.

In tune with the futuristic theme, the award trophy has been digitally sculpted in 3-D. The trophy was unveiled today by actress Priyanka Chopra who, along with Ranbir Kapoor, will be hosting the ceremony to be held on January 24 at Yash Raj Studios.

Kanika Tiwari bags four-film deal

Woodpecker Films, the subsidiary of US-based PE Film Fund which is planning to remake seven Chinese hits in Hindi, is creating their own talent bank for the projects.

To begin with, Kanika Tiwari, who made her debut in Agneepath as Hrithik Roshan's kid sister, will be seen in a glamorous role in the Hindi remake of NG See Yuen's rom-com, HeYue Qing Ren (Contract Lover). In fact, Kanika has already signed a four-film contract with the production company.

So, are they refraining from big star productions? "Definitely not," says Rajesh Bhatia, the company's managing director. "If there is a character suitable for new talent, we sign them on.We have a division that builds them into brands. Just like actors have come up with their own production houses, we are creating our own actors. To look ahead, we also have to look at gen next," he adds.

John Abraham marries Priya Runchal

Actor-producer John Abraham has tied the knot with his girlfriend Priya Runchal in a private ceremony.

The 41-year-old Dhoom star confirmed the news with a tweet, "Wishing you and your loved ones a blessed 2014! May this year bring you love, good fortune and joy. Love, John and Priya Abraham."

John, who was holidaying in the US with Priya, is said to have tied the knot there with only family and close friends in attendance.

John met Priya, an investment banker, in Mumbai in December 2010. He was previously in a nine-year relationship with actress Bipasha Basu.

The actor has always been secretive about his status with Priya and has rarely spoken about her in the media.

Actress-singer Sophie Choudhary took to Twitter to wish the newly weds.

After the success of the 2007 film Om Shanti Om, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Farah Khan are back together again for the film Happy New Year. The first look of the poster is out, which shows the starcast with the tagline, Iss Diwali...Todenge taale India waale. The movie also features Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood, Boman Irani and Vivaan Shah and is scheduled for a Diwali release this year.

Aamir Khan: Anything Salman Khan does will help Dhoom: 3

Actor Aamir Khan enjoys a good relationship with his colleague and contemporary Salman Khan and said that latter's actions will always be beneficial for him.

Salman is planning to launch Jai Ho trailer somewhere close to the release of Aamir's Dhoom 3, which is schedule to come out on December 20.

Asked if this would affect his Dhoom 3, Aamir said: "Salman is a dear friend and anything he does will only help us."

His last film Talaash didn't do well at the box office, but his Ghajini and 3 Idiots were blockbusters.

Asked about his expectations from Dhoom 3, a Yash Raj Films' venture, he said: "I am not looking at setting any records. What really is important for me is that the audience should like the film. It should be entertaining and satisfying for the audience. I don't get into box office figures."

Known as the marketing guru, he didn't reveal anything promotional plans for the film and said: "There is no strategy as such. Let's see."

Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, Dhoom 3 also stars Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra.

I earn the least amount of money, says Aamir Khan

Mumbai: One of Bollywood's favourite Khans, Aamir, claims to earn the "least compared to others", and says he "cannot compromise" with his emotions as "money cannot buy me".

"Till today, I have not worked for money and that is one of my biggest strengths," Aamir, who is currently on a roller-coaster thanks to the success of his latest release "Dhoom 3", told IANS in an interview here.

He has experimented with films, roles and genres galore in his over 25-year movie career. From loverboy to teacher to villager and now a villain, he has done it all, but it's vital for Aamir to connect emotionally with a project before he gives it a thumbs up.

It's not that I don't need money. All of us need money and, according to me, I earn the least amount of money. I earn the least compared to others and yet I am very happy because I do what my heart says.

"I never work for money. Give me Rs.100 crore for a film and if I don't like it, I will not do it. I cannot compromise with my emotions, and money cannot buy me," added the 48-year-old actor, who started his full-fledged tryst with filmdom with the 1988 romance drama "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak".

He cemented his spot in the movie business with projects like 'Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahin', 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar', 'Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke', 'Raja Hindustani' and 'Sarfarosh'. The year 2001 turned out to be a turning point for Aamir, who featured in 'Lagaan' and 'Dil Chahta Hai' - films as different as chalk and cheese - and proved his versatility.

Thereafter, he went on to feature in films like 'Rang De Basanti', 'Fanaa', 'Ghajini', '3 Idiots' and the critically acclaimed 'Dhobi Ghat'. He even acted in and directed the commercially and critically lauded 2007 film 'Taare Zameen Par', which dealt with dyslexia.

No wonder Aamir is known to make films with a no-nonsense quality.

"It is difficult for me to go out of my sensibilities and work. I can do different kinds of genres, but if my sensibility doesn't match, I will not do it. If it disturbs my values, I can't do that film," he said.

"If I had a value judgment on 'Delhi Belly', I would not have produced it. It's an adult comedy, it has use of abusive language, but I feel that even that is a colour of life which I would like to enjoy.

"So, we applied for an 'A' certificate and I went out of my way to tell people that it's an adult film and that if you have any objection, don't come," he added.

That also makes Aamir, a father of three, a socially aware and conscious citizen. He has, of course, put that realm of himself to judicious use with his TV show "Satyamev Jayate", which gives out startling facts about society's issues. But going beyond that capacity and joining politics to bring about change is not his cup of tea.

"I am not interested in politics. I feel whatever my strengths are, I want to make use of them. Why does a person join politics? Because they want to serve society. I feel wherever I am today, I can serve society in a better way.

"I don't have to join politics for that. I am doing 'Satyamev Jayate', which is only about that. I am contributing a lot from here," said the actor, who is now awaiting the celebrations for the success of "Dhoom 3".

Salman Khan never misses a chance to appreciate people

Mumbai: Ajaz Khan was flattered by the love that he received once he came out of reality show 'Bigg Boss - Saath 7'. He credits Bollywood star Salman Khan for making him popular among the audience when he was inside the 'Bigg Boss' house.

Salman hosted the show.

"Salman Khan is the man who has put me in the hearts of the audience. I first made a place in his heart and only then could I enter the people's hearts," Ajaz said here on Friday at an acting institute Livewires.

Actor Aamir Khan is known for being a perfectionist, in both his real and reel life. The actor, who wowed his fans by performing death-defying stunts in 'Dhoom 3', recently extended support to make people aware of road safety at a seminar organised by the Maharashtra Highway Traffic Police at Sahyadri, the state guest house in south Mumbai. "It is an emotional topic and issue for me. Like you all, even I feel worried about my family when they go out. As per the little knowledge I have, one out of 1000 persons in India die in road accidents. It is a serious matter. It is not less than a disease," Aamir had said at the lecture session.
